Hi, I’m Julian. I am a Bay Area-born musician with an unquenchable thirst for music outside the ordinary. I discovered a deep love for music production after my neighbor Ted gave me a broken Tascam 388 tape machine.

After recording an album for my band, Insoms, I set out to further my compositional and technological understanding of music through a BA at the University of Sussex in the UK. Alongside finishing this degree, I built a garage studio around my tape machine with a comprehensive collection of analog hardware. I am recording various Northern California bands, specializing in non-computer-based garage recordings.

This summer, I completed master’s degree in Music and Sonic Media and I continue to thrive with seemingly obsolete and bizarre forms of sonic expression. I am especially interested in the limitations of analog media and hybridized digital/tape conjunctures.
